We had our own private, double decker tour bus to take us through the zoo. Most of us sat on the top, as it was a gorgeous, sunny Southern California kinda day! Hippo Beach at the Zoo The Hippo Beach area has three large sand sculptures of hippos, gracing the entrance to the hippos.

Polar Bears! Yes, there are other animals at the zoo. The SD Zoo has an amazing Polar Bear exhibit.
